I was home sick yesterday, so I had a chance to catch up on some TV watching (in between coughing fits and using up a box of Kleenex). Mondays I record a lot of stuff, so it was good to have some time to watch some things. So here's a few quick hits from things I watched.
Smash--
I just LOVE this show. I love it all! (Except Uma Thurman, she was just messing with everything, so I'm glad she quit, and I totally guessed it was Ellis that tried to poison her, even before I saw the previews or watched this clip: http://www.eonline.com/news/watch_with_kristin/smash_first_look_nick_jonas_returns/314694)
I have always worried that Karen and Dev were going to go the route of Anne Hathaway and her boyfriend in The Devil Wears Prada, the situations just seemed so similar. And I was kind of right about that too. Of course, he didn't sleep with her frenemy. Dev, Dev, Dev. This whole "the ring is in Ivy's room" thing is going to blow up in his face--they don't put that out there for nothing. I loved everything in the church, especially because it brought Tom and Julia together. Now Michael Swift, I have nothing nice to say about that guy and I loved that Julia shoved him off. You GO GIRL! Plus, Julia and her family are so very REAL, don't you think? I love Frank and Leo (how many times have I said "love" already? I don't care, it's true!). Anjelica "singing" with her bartender--LOVE him too. This was a great episode and I can't believe it's finale time already!
90210--
Max is back!!! (That's about all I have to say about that--oh and wannabe priest guy--Caleb--knows Annie was a prostitute--that can't be good.) And I haven't watched this week's yet, so no spoilers! I read there's a car wreck in the finale. What is this, the 3rd season that's ended that way? BORING. I also saw that this got renewed. Must say I'm a little sad. I will feel compelled to see it through to the end, but I'm losing interest.
Glee--
Prom was fun, but I was maybe a little disappointed musically this episode. But Becky and Puck being the absolute cutest couple ever might have saved it. And Blaine without hair gel. He he he.
Make it or Break it--
So, I did hear right a couple weeks ago when I thought they said "series finale." They said it again last night. Which I guess is fine. It's been all about getting to the Olympics, we don't actually have to see that. Right? I feel horrible for Jordan, but again, I TOTALLY CALLED IT. I knew she'd been abused by the coach that Kaylie always said "chose her as his favorite." And now we have it confirmed. The scene with Kaylie and Jordan was really moving. Little nervous for Peyton after giving up her "V card" as Lauren says. Does she not remember what'shername? The girl that got pregnant and moved away? (Seriously, what was her name--and what happened there, she was an interesting character and they just did away with her--the actress must have wanted to/needed to leave or something. Or maybe not. ABC Family isn't necessarily known for the best writing in the world.)
Watch What Happens Live--
Since this is on five days a week, I had a bunch to watch. Not sure there's too much to say, except that Susan Lucci was amazing and fun. Otherwise it was standard fare. Funny Andy, silly games.
The Real Housewives of Orange County--
I had a couple of these saved up. Once again, VICKY. I realize Brianna's been pretty tolerant of your crazy mother antics all these years, but wise-up woman. That's probably WHY she felt she had to elope. Give the girl some credit. It's not like they just met, they've known each other two and a half years (lots longer than that weirdo you gave your email password too Vick), and she's a smart girl. It may still be for the wrong reasons (looking for some stability with a man since her dad situation is wacky), but give her some support and quit boo-hooing over not getting to throw a wedding and all that. So selfish.
Slade is headed for a reality check I think. No way is Gretchen saying yes. And everyone is telling him that. I'm not a Slade hater. No way for me to know his whole story. I think he loves and supports Gretchen. If it is self-serving more than real love--then she'll have to deal with that. But I don't hate the guy. He's fun to laugh at but I think mostly and okay dude. I love Heather and her husband. They are AWESOME. And I am surprised that so far this season, I don't want to kill Tamara. Pretty big change there. Whether she and Gretchen patching things up is for the cameras only or what, I don't know, but I fast forward a lot less this season. (That's what I do when it is just too painful, embarrasing, ridiculous to watch.)
Alexis on TV is a disaster (though she did get a little better with the coach), but that woman is crazy-cakes. I wonder how she always gets her way even though her husband never seems to want her to do these things? He must not be as much of a hard *ss as he comes off.
New Girl--
Never fails to crack me up. The episode was great, especially if you are a Nick/Jess fan, but for laughs you really just have to watch the tag before the credits. Because everyone dancing in their bedrooms is about as funny as this show gets.
SynopCris
Keeping you updated on what you've missed on TV this week, and adding my terribly witty commentary.

The Good Wife Season Finale 4.29.12
Well, Blogger ate my first attempt at this post, so I'm going to try and recreate it. (But I know I'll always think it isn't as good as the "orginal" version.)
The fact that I won't be seeing Alicia, Will, Diane, Kalinda and the rest of the gang until the fall is making me sad (I know, these people are not really my friends and I shouldn't get so attached, but I do. So deal.). But this finale episode gave me a little bit of all the things I love about this show.
Favorite Moment:
Will and Alicia in the elevator. Seriously, these two should bottle their chemistry. It'd probably work better than those "warming gels." We haven't had elevator tension this good since early Grey's Anatomy. I love me some Josh Charles. I 've loved him since he was Knox Overstreets screaming "Chris!!!" in Dead Poet's Society, and that's not changing any time soon. I think we are likely going to see Alicia go back to Peter, at least in some capacity, next season, but I will always be rooting for Will and Alicia to have more "good timing."
Things that made me laugh:
Lockhart Gardner wins a suit, and is awarded more than their "ask" and awarded it by one of the judges Will allegedly bribed. So, Canning and Patti Nyhold (Marthan Plimpton) team up for their clients who are tired of all these class action suits against them. In reality, they just wanted to distract them (which they were, since money is tight and the suit could have bankrupted them) long enough to steal their biggest client, Patrick Edelstein. As Will says, "Whoops." In the process of depostions though, the interview Peter who admits, on the record, that he and Alicia are separated. This could mean bad things for him in the governorship race when it gets out. Alicia found a check in Kalinda's tax file for $21,000. She called the number and a scary man answered, but wouldn't say who he was. He ends up calling Alicia at home and at work, and Kalinda admits that he is her husband and he's dangerous. Kalinda toys with the idea of running away (and she knocks a big hole in her wall and pulls out guns and money while she's packing), but in the end she loads a gun and pulls her chair in front of her door, so when he comes to find her she'll be waiting (it ended with a slow knock on the door). Jackie apologizes to Alicia for outbidding her on the house. Alicia tells her to show her that she means it by putting the house in the kids' names (or else she'll sue Jackie since she took money from the kids' trust for the downpayment). Meanwhile, Peter has moved into the house "temporarily" and it ends with Alicia standing outside, watching the kids and Peter have pizza and trying to decide if she should leave or go back in with them. (I think she's going in, but we'll have to wait and see).
So that's it until the fall. What did you think?

Things that made me laugh:
- Everyone standing so awkwardly together outside the elevator and then Kalina comes in too. The odd silences and sideways glances were a riot.
- Eli smirking at Alicia when he sees that Peter has been in her office. He's the definition of "impish" in that moment.
- The little girl riding her toy around the office. Mostly it was funny because it reminded me of the kid from The Shining riding his big wheel through the hotel.
- Diane. When she rolls her eyes and raises her eyebrow when saying "So. Tomorrow." it is classic. I love this character and I love Christine Baranski in the role. Perfect amount of smart, funny and sexy.
- The "Dream Team." Okay, so Louis Canning (Michael J Fox) has gotten a little mean. But I love snark and these two have it in spades. Great guest stars and great together. Martha Plimpton is looking good, by the way. Loved all the "poop" discussions.
- Jackie? That woman has been a witch (with a B) and I love her for it. So now I can't quite figure out if her "confusion" is an act or for real. I hope it's an act. I don't want to have to feel sympathy for her. One thing I know for sure: She doesn't mean her apology to Alicia.
- Kalinda? Sister friend is badass. Not that we didn't know that already. I think we've known (or suspected at least, I can't remember what we really KNOW) for a while that she had a husband out there somewhere, but man is he SCARY. But really, I don't think he stands a chance against Kalinda lying in wait for him like that. But why did she need money from Will? There looked to be quite a bit stashed in her wall. And how many guns were in there anyway? I'm glad she decides to face facts and not run away.

Getting Started
So, I've always watched a decent amount of TV. We didn't have rules in my house as a kid about how many hours we could watch a week or anything like that. But we didn't overdo it back then either. I watched Saturday morning cartoons, Little House on the Prairie after school, and The Cosby Show on Thursday nights. But, because I went to half-day kindergarten, I also remember watching Soap Operas with my mom (Days of Our Lives and Guiding Light specifically), and I continued that into my college years. I used to record them in college (onto good 'ol VHS tapes) and would have stacks to go through.
I was also an extremeley avid reader, but as I've gotten older, I have watched more and more TV and read less (though I do still do it and I still love it). I think it all really began in the days of Dawson's Creek (I was a Dawson supporter until the very end I'm afraid--now I lean in more of a Pacey direction) and Felicity (NOEL! Come on, she should have been with NOEL!!!!!) West Wing--I love a good boys' club kind of feeling--and Gilmore Girls. I've tried to get away from the teenage dramas, and while I've escaped a few (never watched Gossip Girl for instance), I'm addicted to them like crack, but in a much healthier, safer way.
A few years ago, as I was rattling off Friends' episodes from memory and talking about how the guy that was on X last night was the kid from XX 15 years ago, a friend of mine suggested that I start a website with synopses of shows. I just laughed it off. But here we are, years later, and once again the idea was planted at a dinner a few nights ago. So why the heck not, right? I like to watch, I like to write, I figured I'd give it a go.
So, come check in once in a while, see what I have to say about your favorite show last week. As I say in my disclaimer, don't expect daily updates. I'm not E! with a team of people getting paid to do this. I'm a mom with a DVR. And I know how to use it! Feel free to comment on what you'd like to see added here, or if you find grammar and spelling mistakes! But, let's keep it nice and happy, shall we? It's TVLand after all, we don't need no stinkin' real life drama!
